This is a special afterglow service for the laying on of hands for Pastor Jeff’s appointment to senior pastor. Please join us in prayer that this transition and season might continue to glorify Him and edify the Church, as did the previous season!
my name is Foster and this will be my first “blog”. i am not even familiar with what the word means. that being said i am sure it has something to do with saying whatever is on your mind.
Before i get to far a field here i would like to let everyone know that occasionally you will find some grammatical errors in my writing. please forgive me i do not mean to offend and if you feel the need to correct me i do like to think i am humble enough to receive it with gladness. dont count on it though.
i am considering what to talk about and i thought that over the next few weeks we could discuss our attitude. yes the only thing we can change is our minds and i hope this will be a meaningful pursuit.
Chuck Swindoll says ” the longer i live, the more i realize the impact of attitude in our lives.” i suggest you look up his poem about attitude. it is really eye opening to see how much it effects your life and how incredibly important it is to you.
i cannot change my heart but i can change my mind and that enables me to understand and have the respect and fear of the Lord and then when i see just what a mess i truly am then God can grant me grace, through faith, to be saved and begin to change my heart and it all starts with the right attitude.
in the “most excellent way” ministry, that i have had the privilege of being a part of for the past 16 years, we deal with 10 attitudes. i believe they are important to anyone who is looking to have a real heart change. after all isnt that what we really need? in Ezekiel God speaks of removing the heart of stone and giving us a heart of flesh. a heart that is sensitive to the Lord.
so as we begin this journey we will start with the attitude of humility. please pray that God will reveal Himself to us and grant us the heart of flesh.
keep praying that God will fill our church and anoint our pastor.
